How does it work?
24/7 AI monitoring backed by manned control centers connected to local fire services.
Step 1. Monitoring
Radiometric AI thermal cameras continuously monitor vehicles in charging or parking areas. These cameras measure temperature at the vehicle surface and track patterns over time.
Step 2. AI-assisted detection
Our software identifies abnormal temperature behaviour that may indicate early battery instability. This can occur before visible flame or smoke.
Step 3. Alerting and escalation
Alerts are sent to the control centre and agreed site contacts. This gives operators time to follow pre-planned safety procedures, isolate the vehicle if safe, and prepare responders.
Step 4. Managed response
Where required, sites are equipped with specialist thermal runaway firefighting tools. These help responders manage battery fires and prevent uncontrolled escalation.

Emergency Equipment Cabinet
IEach cabinet is equipped with specialist tools specifically designed for responding to electric vehicle (EV) fires.
As not all UK Fire and Rescue Service appliances carry the necessary equipment for EV incidents, Lithsafe ensures that the right tools are readily available on-site—providing confidence, capability, and critical support when it’s needed most.

Large fire blanket:
These blankets are deployed to either suppress an active fire or prevent ignition in a vehicle at risk. However, it's important to understand that even after a blanket is applied, a vehicle's battery may still enter thermal runaway. This process can release vapours and gases that are potentially explosive, so it is essential that appropriate safety measures are in place to manage and disperse these emissions safely.
Each of our cabinets contains three blankets: two disposable and one ballistic. The ballistic blanket is designed for use on vehicles undergoing thermal runaway, providing robust containment. The disposable blankets are suitable for covering adjacent vehicles or those not directly involved, helping to mitigate risk and prevent escalation.
An underbody spray lance:
This tool plays a critical role in mitigating thermal runaway in EV batteries, which are typically located beneath the vehicle. The underbody spray system delivers targeted cooling directly to the belly pan, helping to stabilise the incident until the vehicle can be safely removed from the charging area.
Each lance is fitted with couplings compatible with local fire service equipment, ensuring quick, secure connections for immediate deployment.
While traditional fire service responses may use up to 1,200 litres of water per minute to cool the underside of an EV, our lance operates efficiently at just 70 litres per minute. This not only conserves water but also significantly reduces contaminated runoff—minimising environmental impact without compromising performance.

Zenova FX Extinguishers
The Zenova fire extinguisher combines advanced fire suppression technology with ease of use, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of fire risks. Its innovative formulation is effective on multiple fire classes, including electrical and lithium-ion battery fires (it must be noted that they are not intended for an EV in thermal runaway, and are for small fire only), while producing minimal residue. Compact, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, the Zenova extinguisher offers fast-acting protection without the mess or limitations of traditional extinguishers—ideal for modern settings where safety, speed, and cleanliness matter.
Under body spray in action
Designed to cool EV batteries by sliding it under the car. Proper balance between droplet size, stream density, water quantity and kinetic energy allows to remove two components in the same time, which is heat – by rapid cooling and oxygen - by evaporation and steam generation making local inert atmosphere. Low water consumption ( 70L/min) together with perfect shape of mist stream and water droplet size makes it very effective.
Security
Security
Our AI system serves as an essential component in combating cable theft, providing an additional layer of protection. The AI is capable of discerning when an individual is present near your charging points without a vehicle, triggering an immediate alert to our control room. This enables human operators to intervene, delivering a real-time warning through the PA system to notify the individual that they are under surveillance.
For enhanced security, the system can also integrate ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) and facial recognition technologies, offering comprehensive protection against unauthorized access and criminal activities. This advanced approach ensures the highest level of security for your site.
